Hugh Jackman Cancer History and Survival Story

Hugh Michael Jackman was born on October 12, 1968, in Sydney, Australia.

He was 8 when his mother left the family, and he and his siblings were largely raised by their father.

Hugh Jackman is best known for playing Wolverine in the ‘X-Men’ film franchise.

He’s also known for starring roles in features like ‘The Prestige’ and ‘Les Misérables,’ as well as his stage work.

Jackman was diagnosed with Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC), a type of skin cancer in 2013

In February 2017, He received his sixth operation to remove traces of skin cancer from his face.

Jackman gets routine check-ups every three months. Having battled the disease six times, he feels this is important.

He urges fans and the public to get routine screenings and has not been quiet about his diagnosis.
