Last year, I was diagnosed with follicular thyroid cancer. Having side effects due to radioactive iodine
Last year right after i was diagnosed with follicular thyroid cancer, I had a total thyroidectomy and some lymph nodes taken out. All lymph nodes looked good, but they did mention in the patholigy report that the follicular cancer was with vascular invasion. With that, i had to get put on a VERY high dose of levothyroxine (137mcg) and do a very high radioactive iodine treatment (i think 150 millicuries). Only side effect ive had since is an occasional glandular seelling in my parotid and submandibular due to the radioactive iodine.
