Intro to Me
In 2007, I was diagnosed with Epithelioid Sarcoma in my perineum (undercarriage). I did six weeks of IMRT radiation therapy, then had the softball-sized tumor removed. 2014, I was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumor of the small intestine. I had it resected, but surrounding lymph nodes showed it had spread. 2017 found the return and spread of the Epithelioid Sarcoma to my right lung and L2 vertebrae. Lung was resected, but the vertebrae is not bc it’s already metastatic and would do more harm than good to remove it. Just this week I was diagnosed again, this time on my pancreas. Still waiting on blood work and scans to confirm if it’s pancreatic, neuroendocrine, or Epithelioid Sarcoma. Through it all, I remain laughing (sometimes crying a little), but mostly laughing and enjoying life with my wife and two children. Each day truly is a gift. I look forward to hopefully finding I’m not so alone in the types of cancer I’ve had/have and making some new friends along the way! Be well, Kirk
