I was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer metastasized in the liver. Cancer will not define me
Hi! My name is Yvonne. I am 33 years old and was diagnosed on Sept 2017 with Stage IV Colon cancer metastasized in the liver. No doctor will give me a prognosis other than “enjoy life”. My liver was horribly covered with lesions that would never allowed any type of surgery on it. So, chemo for life (whatever that means). I have been extremely ridiculously positive not paying attention to statistics or anything. After 36 cycles of chemo my liver had a only a few spots surprising everyone. I was scheduled for surgery on Feb 18 2019(liver resection and colostomy) but … they found new tumors on my peritoneum. I am back to chemo. And just how I got my liver cleaned when no one thought it would be possible, I will know fight this new monsters. And in the meantime, enjoy life. Cancer will not define me.
