Dealing with colostom, colorectal cancer with mets to my liver, and side effects of chemo.
My name is Tracy. I am 56 years old. I have two sons (31 & 20) I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer on March 20, 2018. I had no symptoms other than 2 weeks before my colonoscopy I had a sharp shooting pain in my rear end. Doctor found a mass 12cm up my rear end that about had my colon blocked off. He could not get his scope passed the mass. He immediately did a CT of my abdomen. He found the cancer had spread to my liver. I was advised to have a diverting colostomy as my colon was very distended and about to rupture. I was told if that happened, I would not make it so on April 20th I had the diverting colostomy done. The very next day after my surgery, my mother passed away. She was not sick and we still do not know what happened. She was 77, so now I’m dealing with a colostomy, colorectal cancer with mets to my liver, and side effects of chemo.
