A year before diagnosis I gave birth to my daughter
A year before diagnosis I gave birth to my daughter and a year after finishing chemo I gave birth to my son. I worry for my children all the time especially my daughter. I am the first one in my family to develop cancer and it was definitely a shock! The lack of family history really slowed the diagnosis. By the time I had my staging and debunking surgery I was a stage 3. My CA125 came back fine as well as every other tumour marker. It took 6 months to identify the 21cm mass engulfing my left ovary. The only bonus with my daughter is that she knows her family history so she can get regular checks. So as a mother myself I pray that you trust your gut and get tested. And if you present ANY issues! You go get seen, even if normal cancer markers like CA125 comeback fineā€¦ get them to check, dpuble check and check again! How they found it in me, Alpha feta protein, which is a naturally occurring protein in the blood which elevated during pregnancy.. indicates cancer when not pregnant. It should be below 11 .. mine was 99,980! :0
