About Head and Neck Cancer

Head and Neck Cancer is a group of cancer that can start in the mouth, throat, salivary gland, nose, larynx, or sinuses. According to American Cancer Society, in 2019 there will be approximately 65,410 new cases of head and neck cancer

Type of head and neck cancer:

  1. Laryngeal cancer: In this type of head and neck cancer, malignant cancer cells are formed in the tissues of the larynx.
  2. Hypopharyngeal cancer: In this cancer, malignant cells are formed in the region where larynx and esophagus - hyphopharynx.
  3. Nasal Cavity and paranasal sinus cancer: In this type of head and neck cancer, malignant cancer cells are formed in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinus region.
  4. Nasopharyngeal cancer: In this disease, cancerous cells are formed in the nasopharynx tissues.
  5. Oral and oropharyngeal cancer: In this type of head and neck cancer, malignant cells starts developing in the oropharynx tissues.
  6. Salivary gland tumor cancer: In this type of head and neck cancer, malignant cells are formed in the tissues of salivary gland.
